Senior Counsel - Corporate, Real Estate Transactions
This position is a senior counsel role and will be part of Cardinal Health?s corporate legal team focusing on real estate transactions. This role will be responsible for providing legal advice, counsel and support to Cardinal Health?s Corporate Real Estate and Global Workplace Services function relating to Cardinal Health?s global real estate portfolio.
Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of real estate agreements and legal documents, such as lease agreements and amendments; renewal notices; lease terminations; tenant estoppel certificates and SNDAs; construction agreements; and real estate purchase and sale agreements
Managing relationship with outside real estate counsel, including coordinating work on matters sent to external counsel and providing input based on Cardinal Health?s risk tolerance, preferred terms, and strategic and operational objectives
Supporting Corporate Real Estate?s transaction management and lease administration teams with respect to the acquisition, renewal, and disposal of real estate and administration of leases
Advising Corporate Real Estate on lease disputes and other operational matters involving Cardinal Health?s facilities, including interpreting landlord and tenant rights and responsibilities under existing leases
What the Corporate legal team contributes to Cardinal Health
The corporate legal team provides the company with strategic, proactive, practical and cost-effective legal advice and services in order to enable the company to affect its business strategies and protect the organization's assets, operations and reputation. This function provides legal counsel related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities, and transactional support, among other areas.
Qualifications
Juris Doctorate degree with a record of high academic achievement
License to practice law in Ohio or licensed in the jurisdiction in which you live and work
At least 5-7 years of real estate transactional experience in a nationally recognized law firm, preferably as part of a real estate practice group, or comparable in-house experience
Experience working on complex commercial real estate transactions for industrial, office, and retail spaces, including negotiating, reviewing, and drafting contracts and other legal documents
Familiarity with the healthcare industry is preferred
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while acting with an appropriate sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
Good business acumen and ability to provide advice with a strategic, commercial focus
Strong personal ethics

Anticipated salary range:$121,600 - $165,700
