Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, Director, and Managing Director Positions Available – Nationwide
Specialty Valuation Group (SVG) is one of the country’s most unique real estate appraisal firms as we specialize in the valuation of special-use commercial real estate. As such, we are always looking for appraisers who have experience appraising special-purpose properties and who would like to join a company that shares their passion for the appraisal profession and these unique property types. We are looking for experienced certified general appraisers nationwide! Appraiser, Director and Managing Director positions are available for the right candidates.
Job Description:
- Independently prepares appraisals on commercial real estate assets with review by a designated Managing Director.
- Prepares commercial real estate appraisal reports and/or market studies from start to finish, including all certified general appraiser responsibilities.
- Maintains organizational reputation by conforming to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by tracking current real estate values and property development potential, including land use restrictions; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations for the purpose of conducting accurate appraisals.
- Contributes to overall organizational goals by adding to database, specializing in niche real estate markets and property types, mentoring trainees, and engaging in client development.
- Must be able to travel to assigned inspections.
- Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers.
- May lead project teams and/or plan and supervise assignments of lower-level employees.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university required.
- A minimum of 2-5+ years commercial appraisal experience.
- Specific experience with special-purpose properties (i.e. gas stations, restaurants, car washes, hospitality, marinas, etc) and/or commercial appraisal review experience is a plus, but not required as we offer hands-on training.
- Must have a state Certified General Appraisal license (or close to obtaining a state certification).
- MAI designation preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to clients.
- Ability to effectively present information.
- Complete understanding of approaches to value of real estate assets.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
- Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficient in Argus, MS Word and MS Excel.
- Good writing skills.
- Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines.
- Responsible for setting appraisal and/or project deadlines.
