Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) CIB delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. Within CIB, Financial Resource Management (FRM) is the group responsible for helping CIB meet its financial return objectives. FRM plays an important role in effectively managing credit and credit-related risk as well as optimizing and allocating balance sheet, capital, funding and liquidity resources to meet CIBs client and return objectives. Specific areas of focus for FRM include:
Improving financial performance measurement for CIB businesses
Understanding and communicating critical financial resource constraints to CIB businesses
Structuring and allocating secured funding resources for client funding needs
Partnering with COO/Finance/Risk/Businesses to optimize capital usage and funding and liquidity management for CIB
Partnering with Corporate Treasury on funds transfer pricing initiatives
Standardization and efficiency of the loan portfolio management function across CIB, including partnering with CIB's Senior Credit Officers to implement a more robust 'top-down' loan portfolio stress and capital analysis approach
As part of the FRM team, Capital and Returns (C&R) works directly with CIB business leaders, the COO organization, Finance, Risk, Technology, Operations, Corporate Treasury and other key partners to understand and rationalize capital usage and improve overall returns for CIB. One key aspect for our success is our ability to manage market data, a major component of our capital models.
This role within C&R will be responsible for:
Provides leadership and oversight over the market data quantitative analysis team in Front Office, consisting of quantitative staff with strong product knowledge (subject matter experts per asset class)
Proposes and oversees the implementation of strategic improvements to quantitative market data methodologies to measure quality of data so it be fit for use in Front Office pricing models as well as Market, Counterparty and Capital Models
Oversees analytical and quantitative approaches to analyze and process data
Provides leadership and serves as an escalation point in interactions with stakeholders across Front Office, Front Office and Risk Analytics Quantitative Teams and Technology on various market data related topics, including:
Daily market data quantitative analysis
Data quality remediation efforts (e.g., designing quantitative key performance indicators so as to measure quality of data, or, quantitative approaches to fill missing data, working with Front Office desks on obtaining trader marks so that the platform can report risk appropriately)
Communicates market data quality issues to downstream users
Requests for new market data (e.g., participating in new product approval process, interacting with vendor procurement teams)
Business owner of Market data system of record
Represents Front Office Market Data Quantitative Analysis team in governance forums and senior leadership discussions
Ensures team adheres to firm-wide policies for data governance and controls

Experience building efficient large scale and complex market data operations / end to end market data engineering processes in a sales and trading environment
Experience working with quant teams developing market data management systems which allow for efficient data retrieving so as to optimize modeling approaches
Experience leading large teams/multiple business partners, overseeing business as usual market data operations with strong governance processes and controls
Knowledge and understanding of traded derivative and cash products across all asset classes to effectively have discussions with Front Office traders, Market Risk Officers, and Risk Analytics team
Experience overseeing the development and implementation of quantitative methods for data quality checks and remediation techniques including statistical data filling methods and proxying
Understanding of how market data impacts the following downstream uses: o Market risk VaR o Counterparty credit risk and CVA o IPV, etc.
Understanding of the following: o Major market data sources (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, Markit) o Market data object construction methods for curves and volatility surfaces o Risk factor types across asset classes o Market data related regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, FRTB)
Experience interacting with senior leadership across Front Office, Risk, and Technology
12+ yrs experience in quantitative or complex data management field
Experience working with large scale and complex data management systems
Proficient in Python and SQL (reading and writing queries)
Understanding of Wells Fargo technology systems and culture
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
