Portland State University’s Campus Planning Office (CPO) is seeking a Leasing Specialist to assist with leasing properties, including working with outside brokers and internal stakeholders to recommend the best tenant mix for the University.
The Leasing Specialist will work directly with the Assistant Director in the Campus Planning Office to determine targeted leasing opportunities, proformas, marketing plans, contract preparation, tenant build-out management, and overall commercial retail strategies.
In addition, the Leasing Specialist will assist with efforts to lease space outside the University when needed, developing leasing policies, tracking commercial real estate trends and assisting with special projects when required, including some cross-disciplinary urban planning projects.
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of sales or leasing, brokerage, property management or other negotiation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrable knowledge of real estate concepts, strategy and operations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using sound judgment and solid analytical and financial acumen.
Demonstrated ability to solve unique and challenging problems.
Experience managing relationships with internal and external business partners.
Excellent organization, follow-through and follow-up.
Must be able to work in a culturally diverse, demanding environment, demonstrating sensitivity to various constituent interests.
Proficient in use of personal computer including spreadsheets and word processing.
Master's degree in Real Estate Development.
At least 2 years of mixed use (retail and office) experience in a college/university environment or similar campus environment.
Familiarity and experience using BOMA lease.
